An Ordinary Treasure

How do you say goodbye to the daily comforts that are no longer the everyday. Taking for granted they will always be... and you will have forever to say and do all that you intend.

On Monday, our precious little dog passed away. Her fragile body gave out... not exactly the way I had planned to celebrate my birthday.

My husband and I spent the day contemplating the "what ifs" and "should haves"... vowing to each other to enjoy the mundane... reminding ourselves that even the ordinary is a treasure.

I've been absent from the blog world and am catching up. I'm really sorry about your loss...It is really hard losing a pet and the unconditional love they bring each day...I hurt for you...

Oh Tracie...I am so sorry. I wish I knew what to say at times like this. Just know that I understand your feelings of loss and know that your precious one is romping in a field of daffodils in Heaven!

I am SO sorry for your loss, Tracie. As a pet parent, I can relate. Our pets are our families as Kelly Rae said. My heart goes out to you....

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head
As I cradled him in my arms,
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And Oh...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you" gaze,
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy-filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a doggy door!"

My heart goes out to you. I read about this on Nina's blog and felt so sad. It's such a very hard thing to go through. I just lost my little four-legged girl in Feb at almost 16-years-old... my heart is still broken. It probably will always be a little lopsided from now on. I am just so lucky to keep her memory through photos, video and my art. I'm thinking about you, Tracie. Lot's of love from me to you, Holly

I'm so sorry, Tracie. Our "fur people" are part of the family, aren't they, and it's hard when we lose them. Sending you hugs, from me and from my little fur person...

Oh Tracie, I'm so sorry. And I feel bad that I hadn't checked your blog this week until today, so I could have been there for you. You & I have talked about our pets before, and how horrible it is to lose them, so you know I'm feeling your pain right along with you. Sending hugs, and wishing there was more that I could do.
