Now Serving... tiny bits of DELIGHT!

I have always been quite enamored with treasures that are able to fit in the palm of my hand. Somehow, I feel as if I am holding a rare jewel, small yet precious.

Lately, I have been painting a number of ACEOs (Artist Trading Card Editions/Originals) or something close in size to the specific dimensions of 2.5" x 3.5" that an ACEO should embody.

These tiny works are bits of inspiration and delight that I can carry with me, like a little secret tucked in my pocket. I especially love bringing one along on a trip to brighten my room and give me a familiar comfort from home.

When I was studying Renaissance Art History in college, I learned about how collectors always stored their pieces in drawers, cupboards, even behind curtains only to be admired on special occasions. Can you imagine not being able to gaze upon such beauty except when allowed?

I, for one, am very glad society has not continued with this particular practice. I would be lost if I could not surround myself with wondrous works of art for the eyes to behold and soul to cherish.
