My favorite part of Christmas is after the meal, presents, clean up. We all sit around and remember stories from childhood (some that are new for the parents!), laughing, remembering when, the closeness that once bound us is still alive and well. Have a beautiful holiday season and thanks for always being an inspiration. (Many gifts this year were inspired by your book. Thanks!)

My favorite Christmas delight is having the opportunity to visit with family and find out what what they have been up to. I also love when the kids see what Santa brought and are so happy to find they received what they requested.

My favorite part of Christmas is making and receiving cards from people we don't see from year to year. And I love the baking to distribute to friends and neighbors. Of course having family when they can be here is always top of the list.

One of my favourite parts of Christmas is eating traditional Christmas pudding served with cream!

One of my favorites at Christmas is to remember to take the time to stop and sit in a comfy chair for a cup of chai tea with the tree lights on and my knitting in hand.
My next favorite thing to do is to go for a walk together when the family is home either to feed the birds or admire the lights.

An annual delight is bundling up with my husband and children with a thermos and travel mugs filled with homemade hot chocolate, to drive through local neighborhoods to see the Christmas lights and displays. We play and sing along with favorite Christmas music, ooh and aah, sip hot cocoa, and fill our eyes with the sparkle of the holiday!

Merry Christmas!

This is a lovely book....a treasured holiday tradition at our house is a late evening walk on Christmas Eve followed by hot chocolate and presents of new pajamas. Wishing you every happiness, Tracie, this Christmas!

I love the peace and contentment after all the presents are opened and everyone is enjoying their visit with each other. The true meaning of Christmas being with the ones you love.

my favorite Christmas delight is experiencing unexpected 'giving'.

For instance, a neighbor whom I have not seen all year, stopped by with Christmas cookies.

I used to own a childrens clothing store...we hosted the downtown santa. Kids would leave letters to Santa... and Mom's & Dads would come "peek" at them. A sweet Mom is reading her sons letter and tears were just running down her face... she turns to me and says.." he is asking Santa for a blanket because he is so cold, I had no idea he was cold".

I'll never forget such a simple request... so sweet.

I also learned a great lesson from our son... first grandchild... crazy amount of gifts... he was probably 3 or 4 and my husband goes to hand him his next gift to open... and he says, "no, that was just enough" I kid you not... with a pile left under the tree... lesson learned.

Merry Christmas

My favorite moment is at the end of Christmas day and I can sit back and say "ahhh; I made it; and it's all done for another year"
Sorry , I like Christmas but it has become so frantic...not at all like we fantasize and romanticize it to be. I wish we could go back to simpler times...like in your give away book.

My favorite part of Christmas is opening presents on Christmas morning. Now that my chldren are college age, it is such a treat to have them home and all be back together once again. With two kids in college, we don't have the money to be buying all the gifts we used to, so each gift is a treasure, but the most wonderful treasure is time with my husband and children.

My favorite part of Christmas is our family sharing Christmas with others who have no family. We open up our home, have a huge dinner, and play dirty Gerty with $10 gifts.(ask me) Christmas is a joy and the people who come to our home bring lots of laughter and joy to all of us.

For me, my favorite Christmas delight is my family and extended family all getting together. For some of my relatives, we only see them once a year during Christmas. There is always so much to catch up on and reconnect with. One of my Aunts is super creative, so it is "show and tell" time and we get to see what she has been making/working on. So inspiring and fun. Most of us go to Midnight Mass, and then celebrate Christmas Day together.

My hubby is a music pastor so we always spend Christmas Eve in church services. My favorite thing is singing Christmas Carols and hearing my family and church people all sing together. I cry every time. It is so beautiful and joyful and peaceful.

My favorite Christmas delight is driving around on Christmas Eve in Billings Mt. There is one street every year that each family turns all of their home lights off and the whole street is lined with candles in paper bags spaced about every 6 inches along driveways, sidewalks, porches...it is so beautiful and peaceful with the snow and stars. The cars turn only their parking lights on. And then Santa flies over to the kids delight.(It's actually a display pulled behind a helicoptor but the kids don't know.

My favorite holiday delight was being able to celebrate Christmas and New Years with my 90 year old Father just two weeks before he passed away peacefully. It was such a blessing to have him with us for the greatest celebration.

I am a potter and love to make and give original handmade ceramic ornaments. But it isn't really Christmas to me until I watch the Christmas Eve service from the Vatican.

Thanks for the chance to win!

My favorite Holiday Delight is "Trash." Commonly called Chex Party Mix. I use the same recipe my Grandma and Mom used in the 60's which is different from the "original" recipe featured on today's Chex cereal boxes. Yum!

Christmas is all about family - I love snuggling in on Christmas Eve and reading the story of the birth of Jesus from Luke in the bible, and the kids act it out. We have some great pictures over the years.

Congratulations on your book. I love the title -- Vintage Notions! -- and look forward to seeing it, hopefully soon.

There are two things that particularly delight me about Christmas. One is a program called Behold the Lamb put on by the college ministry at our church. It's beautiful and the music stays in my head for weeks afterward! The other thing I love about Christmas is finding and trying new and very different recipes for our extended family on Christmas day. One year we had so many delicious appetizers that only a few people ate any of the delicious dinner we had prepared. The next year we decided to go crazy and our entire Christmas dinner consisted of appetizers, desserts and Red Roosters (an adult beverage!) lol.

I don't know if I can pick just one Christmas Delight! I love baking, I love watching "It's a Wonderful Life" with my grown kids, I love Christmas eve when everything is done and it's quiet and the lights are blinking on the trees, and the music is playing softly. I could go on and on!

Your blog is lovely - I found you through a facebook post by Lyric Kinard. One of my favorite holiday delights is going to my parent's house on Christmas Eve. My kids love it as well. The wonderful thing about it is that my parents have been hosting this open house for over twenty years - friends and family have grown up together sharing this special evening. Have a wonderful Christmas!

My favorite part of Christmas is the candle light service at church on Christmas eve. The church is darkened, and everyone holds a lighted candle, and we sing Silent Night. It is beautiful.

I like the Christmas Eve service at my church, which includes lots of participation from the congregation. I also like our Chrismons--decorations in white and gold depicting Christ monograms.
I don't do much decorating at home because I travel to see my family, but these blogs reminded me of a lamp we had back in the 50s and 60s. It was simply constructed, with a cone-shaped shade (imagine a paper Christmas tree) that rotated when the lamp warmed up. Usually it had a blue light bulb in it. It sounds weird, but it was cool. To put it in context, aluminum trees came out around then, and no, we didn't have one. :)

The wonderful Christmas cookies made by my grandmother every year. As I traveled around the world as a military family, her cookies were always a taste of home and family far away.

My fave delight is Christmas itself. Everything about it the music, the decorations, sharing special time with family and friends, making or shopping for that special gift, the quiet times sitting by the tree with the snow falling outside, and most of all for celebrating the gift of my Savior.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!!

The most delightful part of Christmas for me is to see my grandchildren. They don't live close so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, and Christmas is so nice when you see their eyes light up as they open their gifts and enjoy all the goodies during the holidays. They are age 6,4,2, and 16 mos., and I also have a little angel grandchild in heaven who I always miss especially at Christmas.

Hard to choose, but I think my favorite Christmas delight is baking cookies with my kids. Even though they're all grown up, it's a tradition that brings back so many memories of them growing up. ...our specialty is gingerbread men :)

My favorite part of Christmas is laughing and reminiscing with my siblings about when we were kids. I believed in Santa until I was almost 12. I just didn't want to let go of the fantasy.

My favorite bit of Christmas is getting out the tree decorations and remembering where each came from; some from my grandmother's tree, some from my parent's, some made by the children and one made by my husband on our first married christmas. Then on go the lights. Magical.

I love the whole season -- singing along with the Christmas carols as I drive, thinking about what to get or make for family and friends, unwrapping ornaments and appreciating the memories that go along with them, preparing the dinners, sharing memories with family on Christmas Eve and Day. But my one private delight for as far back as I can remember has always been sitting at the base of the Christmas tree, looking up at the lights and taking in its magic the night before all the presents are opened.
