Looks awesome! A favorite art technique, huh? Tough call. I think my favorite thing to do is play with heavy bodied acrylics and glaze mixing things with my fingers as I work... starting with straight pigment and adding glaze directly on a piece and working it with my fingers to create my own transparency in particular areas. I like having control over it this way vs. pigmented glaze in a bottle.

My favourite technique is 'just add more'. It's that moment (as a mixed media abstract artist) where your work doesn't look like its sufficiently busy enough so you chuck more and more stuff at it until it looks like a unicorns puked on it.... Works for me anyway.

How divine! Thanks for the chance to win. I like to play with texture ... collaging all sorts of *stuff* along with paint, stamps ... kitty prints as they walk across my work! :D :D :D

At the moment it is drawing with carbothello pencils....but who knows tomorrow! Thank you for the chance to win this fascinating book!

Oh, that's easy: mixing collage with sewing and painting.

I want to leave a comment but it's impossible to choose a favorite art technique. The ones I use the most often, and therefore my favorites would be gelatin mono printing, stamping (with homemade stamps) on fabric, and turning it into textile art with lots of machine and hand stitching.

My favorite art technique right now? Layering, with neocolor II crayons and watercolors over collage . . . lovely old book text has my heart!!

Thanks for this opportunity!

This looks like a wonderful book and giveaway!! Hard to pick a favorite--but I love using my brayer and combing different colors on my page.

Favorite thing today is fusible fabric appliqué - been doing fabric based things for a long time, just recently been experimenting with fusing fabric on to paper works.
Thanks for the contest!

I would love to win this book. I plan on coming to the Studio! I love stamping into texture medium.

A Creative Pilgrimage sounds like a fabulous book! Oh my, and a chance to win a copy!
One of my favorite techniques is to create a background of layered torn papers, add a paint wash, add various layers of marks and printed images... and then use as a base for collage. I love layers!
Thank you for hosting the giveaway, Tracie!

I enjoy any techniques that distress what I'm doing. It's like magic. Adding some distress ink or actually distressing the sides of a card or using gesso and paint to mellow somethig down. Instant shabby.

Oh what a great give-a-way! I am so new at this I really need this great book. For now, my favorite technique is thread painting...I want to learn so much in such little time.
Thanks so much!
I love my calendar!

Wish I lived close enough to attend the launch party!
Thank you for the opportunity to win this fabulous looking book though.
Favourite art technique ~ always trying something new so that is always changing too ♥

Wish I was local to attend! Thank you for the opportunity to win though! I would say my favorite technique is to utilize my screen printed fabric in any and all my mixed media artwork! This is soooo fun.

Thank you Tracie, and congratulations on all of your exciting adventures in the works! I'm looking forward to following your blog this year. :) As far as my favorite technique, I am enjoying making digital collages, printing and then "antiquing" them with various mixed-media supplies. Thanks again. Happy 2012!

Thank you for such a great opportunity and a great question, love reading the diff techniques everyone loves, and curious about so many! I'm a paper layerer! Right now working with leftover Christmas paper and tissues, building layers for collages and mixed media backgrounds using my fav distress mediums, white acrylic and white gesso.

SO many many favorite things! My favorite thing lately is to sew old bits of lace trims to papers. Perfect for journals, books & cards. It adds texture that looks so beautiful!

Book looks fabulous. My favourite art technique right now (well Im working on two simultanously) but I would I think opt for my Map Trails - using old maps, torn to various sizes flat or concertina; the map is distressed with white tempera paint to give it tooth (cheaper than gesso), then I sketch over it, and write my own 'word-whispers'. I use fused napkins as well, may add my own carved stamps, and photos printed on 45gsm layout paper, stitched to muslin and applied to the trail; or a transfer of words using 'Cool-Peel' It depends on the subject; its the map and the 'trail' that is important to me; setting out on a creative journey.

My newest favorite technique is coloring with colored pencil on brown bag papers... i just saw a post on creshendoh (sp?) on stamping on chipboard and using all white and black inks only... that's looks super fun. I donno... everyday brings me a new technique to try. Today... playing with clay to make buttons. Gotta love the artsy fatsy life! Thanks for offering this giveway. Love your work !

I've been away from blogging for so long, that I didn't even know this book was inthe works. Shame on me! It certainly seems to be one that my library needs! Or maybe it's me who 'wants' it . . . so favorite art technique . . . metalcraft, for certain . . . trying to decide between forging and soldering. Ooh, I forgot etching! That's it, acid etching metal! Incredibly satisfying, and always a bit of a surprise! How exciting that you're part of another book, Tracie Lyn! I'm so happy and excited for you!

What an outstanding line up of artists! My favorite art technique is the one closest to me at the moment. With a hummingbird approach to creating, it varies day to day. Right now it is Inktense pencils on fabric, yesterday it was applying paper to fabric ala Beryl Taylor. Have a wonderful weekend!

Too many are my favorite! Like everyone else. Mixing paint for application to fabric, or paintstiks is one of my faves.

I have been quite into quilling lately. The art of rolling the paper up and creating a large piece from each small, unique roll is very calming. Thanks!!

I add stitching to everything I can, especially paper projects. And I'm adding this new book to my Amazon faves list!
