Mid-Flight

There is a solitude woven in and among the days of January. Each of us left to our own thoughts, quietly pondering moments... of the past, of the future.

Embracing the stillness and the beautiful serenity of a winter landscape...  I love the prairie in January, soft, barely-there colors completely faded, nearly washed-away.  The ground effortlessly becoming a snowy sky and a horizon banished.

I have finished, during small gathered bits of time stolen amidst the meloncholy of removing holiday remnants from a house once decorated in festive, another treasure box. A piece left on my worktable, mid-process from late summer.

January is a time to tidy-up... whether it is decorations or the once forgotten and abandoned.

The illustrious colors of this Robin, mid-flight, make me smile!

It's lovely! If we can let our minds wander to the beauty in nature and forget about the cold, it is a really wondrous time of year. You've described better than I just did in my post. There is something very peaceful about the cool soft shades right now.

Your colorful robin makes me think of spring. My paperwhites are budded up and the amaryllis are as well. I will celebrate hints of spring with their beauty until the real thing comes along. Thank you for brightening my day with your happy robin.
