It's Official

"Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey.  It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again.  What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived."

- Jean Luc Picard

On the Prairie, Summer arrived long before the calendar marked it's official appearance... scorching sun and blistering winds make the sunflowers, that grow wild from every crevice of parched, cracked earth, bend and sway in elegant synchronicity, keeping perfect time with the almost violent gusts.  The swallows are also abundant, just like the wild sunflowers. Their moments spent in constant, relentless flight, always circling in search of insects, gliding so close... so very close to the ground that you might feel their bodies brush against your hand if you were to stoop over.

Here in the desert of Washington State, Mom Nature is very confused.;) Today is sunny and warm, this weekend it will revert back to cool and wet. Our sunflowers are opening and the goldfinches are on their nest. Life is good.
