Recalling All The Joys Of Life

Two weeks ago, my feelings for home and family were forever altered. These feelings now resonate so much deeper than I have ever experienced...

On Tuesday, March 5th, I learned my mother had terminal cancer. The devastating news came as a complete shock. Even today I am still reeling, trying desperately to catch-my-breath and wrap my mind around this horrendous fact.

I am back in the studio for the first time since traveling cross-country to be by my mother's side. It feels good to be home, easing back into a familiar routine that defines my days, but my heart is still at her bedside. Although work is a good outlet, my mind continues to wander today.  I find myself drawn, over and over again, toward the pieces of my beautiful new fabric collection,
Our House, that sit neatly stacked on the work table. As a small comfort, I continue to clutch the fabrics in my hand, feel the soft fibers between my fingers, read and re-read the soothing poetic verses of home...
Like so many of us know and understand when urgent events happen, it is family, friends and home where you find refuse from the intense storms of life.

Prayers of comfort and Love for you and your Mama.
Nothing ever stays the same in this life of ours. The only thing that will never fade, is our deep and abiding love for the ones who hold our hearts, within their own.

Love is all around you and your Mama...

Having lost my mom to cancer several months ago my heart goes out to you and your family. This verse from Psalm 145 was meaningful to me during many months: "The Lord is near all who call out to Him." I pray that God's presence will be a strong anchor for you.

I'm so sorry to hear your terrible news. I'm sending many prayers and blessings your way. It's good that you were able to fly out and be at her side. Sometimes these terrible things can be a blessing when they help us to focus on what is most important. Just take it one day at a time.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you and your mother. I can not imagine. I did go through this with my father just a little over a year ago. It is not easy. I am sending you virtual hugs and many prayers!
