I imagine myself walking along a winding path under a majestic canopy of limbs, basking in a shower of blossoms raining down.
I love the thought of a sweet little goldfinch sitting atop the branches, creating such a wonderful contrast of warm yellows among the soft pinks hues of the cherry blossom flowers.

I'm really not trying to rub it in, but I went to see the cherry blossoms in DC yesterday morning. They were a bit past peak, but nonetheless stunning in the early morning fog. I'll be posting some images soon, I hope. We've got a DC/Kansas connection.. my mom lives in Leawood.

Goldfinches are some of my favorites. I love how they hide under a drab cloak of winter at the feeder, and then in spring put on the goods!
I wanted to e-mail you about your Preserved Nature Journal class at Hampton, but your Yahoo address bounced back.

We were just talking about the cherry blossoms and how, even though we lived in Northern VA for 8 years, we never went to see them. What on earth were we thinking?
